backgrounds in fixed income, derivatives, and structured products. Brief biographies of the
founding partners are provided below for reference:
Robert M. Grillo

Robert M. Grillo is a Founding Partner and Managing Member of A1A Capital Management LLC with over 25 years of experience in fixed income trading and sales. Starting in 1990 at J.P. Morgan in fixed income sales, he specialized in USD rates, options, and mortgage-backed securities, later trading structured products at hedge funds including Illinois Income Investors (III/AVM Securities).
After 2007, Rob held senior sales roles at J.P. Morgan and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, leading global rates strategies. As a Founding Partner and Managing Member of A1A Capital, he drives fixed income arbitrage initiatives. Rob holds a B.A. from St. John’s University and advises firms through RMAG, LLC.
Donald S. Uderitz

Donald S. Uderitz is a Founding Partner of A1A Capital Management LLC with over 30 years of experience in fixed income and investment management. Starting at the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, he gained expertise in structuring mortgages and derivatives, later serving as co-head of mortgages at Illinois Income Investors (III/AVM Securities) In 2005, Don founded Vantage Capital Group, focusing on arbitrage in structured products like whole loan CMOs and CLO securitizations.
As a Founding Partner of A1A Capital, he leads strategic investment initiatives. Don holds a B.A. in Economics from SUNY Brockport (1988, cum laude) and an MBA from The College of William and Mary (1991).
Peter Freilinger, CFA

Peter Freilinger, CFA, is a Founding Partner of A1A Capital Management LLC with over 30 years of experience in derivatives and capital markets. Beginning in 1995 at Barclays Global Investors, he managed $30 billion in mortgage-backed securities and derivatives arbitrage portfolios, later overseeing liquidity and asset-liability strategies at Washington Mutual.
Since 2012, Peter has held senior roles, including Treasurer at ATB Financial, and provided consulting on hedging and asset valuation. As a Founding Partner of A1A Capital, he drives strategic financial solutions. Peter holds a B.A. from Harvard College (1995, cum laude) and a CFA designation and serves on non-profit advisory boards.
Jorge Rodriguez Lugo

Jorge Rodriguez Lugo is a Founding Partner of A1A Capital Management LLC with over 35 years of experience in fixed income and institutional bond sales. Beginning his career in 1984 at E.F. Hutton, he held roles at Chase, Illinois Income Investors (III/AVM Securities), and Lehman Brothers, specializing in marketing derivatives, mortgage-backed securities, and structured assets to institutional clients.
Since 2005, Jorge has partnered with Vantage Capital Group, focusing on relative value arbitrage in structured products, including agency CMOs, CLO Securitizations and consumer credit ABS. As a Founding Partner of A1A Capital, he drives innovative arbitrage solutions. Jorge holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
